Acting NDPP okay for now

While the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) welcomes the appointment of Dr Silas Ramaite as the acting National Director of Public Prosecutions, we believe the National Prosecuting Authority needs fresh blood with the necessary courage and energy to process the myriad of cases waiting for action against high profile people.

“We believe that Dr Ramaite will be a good individual for an interim period thanks to his institutional knowledge and experience within the institution,” says Wayne Duvenage, OUTA’s CEO.

“We see him as a solid individual who will be an appropriate custodian until a dynamic permanent incumbent is appointed.”

We trust that President Ramaphosa is looking hard and far to find the right candidate to provide the necessary leadership to turn the NPA into an effective prosecuting entity. Until then, we look forward to Dr Ramaite driving the NPA in the right direction and in the best interests of all South Africans.

OUTA is a proudly South African civil action organisation, that is purely crowd funded. Our work is supported by ordinary citizens who are passionate about holding government accountable and ensuring our taxes are used to the benefit of all South Africans.
