The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically managing the Transport portfolio and its associated projects and campaigns. This position requires an experienced manager with strong leadership skills and outstanding communication abilities who has a keen interest in South Africa’s transport sectors.

Duties and responsibilities

This person should have good interpersonal and time management skills, strong intellect and problem solving capabilities and have good functional and technical understanding of transportation processes and methodologies.

The Transport Portfolio Manager must:

  • Develop the transportation portfolio strategically thus assisting the growth of the organisation
  • Coordinate and manage the progress of selected projects within the portfolio
  • Ensure the relevance of the portfolio objectives through the media
  • Represent OUTA through public speaking
  • Coordinate partnerships with analogous entities and collaborative campaigns
  • Establish an advisory group of specialists on transport matters.
  • Render expert representation, support and input on transport matters to members, whistle blowers, communities and civil society organisations
  • Provide expert input into draft policies and legislation, where appropriate
  • Auditing, analysing and reporting on transport performance indicators that fall within our mandate
  • Management and mentoring of the support team during various projects and campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Project management experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of transport and related law – AARTO etc. – is preferred
  • Working knowledge of legal terminology, a plus
  • Degree in Transport Economics advantageous
  • 5 years’ experience minimum within a transportation environment

Working conditions

This position will be largely office based at OUTA Head Office in Randburg.  The position will however, also require occasional travel.

The Investigator is responsible for investigating specific project related matters aligned with the mission and vision of OUTA. The successful candidate will investigate, organise, compile and report on various projects and review and interpret existing reports.

Attributes and Capabilities

  • Must have a passion for championing the rights of citizens with a good knowledge and interest in current affairs
  • Ability to conceptualise and make effective decisions in search of solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

This person should have good but firm people skills, be a good communicator, have the foresight to assess potential risks, and be a good strategist.

The investigator must:

  • Be able to plan and conduct investigations.
  • Investigate all allegations of fraud, maladministration and corruption in accordance with the organisations project scope.
  • Comply with proper information systems for reporting and recording corruption cases.
  • Compiling and analysing relevant data, and reviewing evidence gathered.
  • Liaising with various role players.
  • Providing evidence at disciplinary hearings and in criminal / civil courts where necessary.
  • Compiling reports for senior management.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest information and techniques, specific to the field.

Required Experience

  • Strong investigative experience
  • Preparing factual reports / report writing
  • Working knowledge of legal terminology, a plus
  • Ability to operate independently and with high credibility.

Preferred Qualifications

A suitable candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience within the investigations sector.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in a related field, or a legal qualification, preferable
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (advantageous)
  • Any combination of training / experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Job Purpose

The holder of this position will be responsible for administering all the projects and campaigns within the organisation, utilizing a project management system. This position requires an energetic and motivated administrator, with attuned communication abilities and outstanding project administration proficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Projects Administrator will be required to:

  • Work closely with the management teams to ensure smooth operation of the project system (ProofHUB).
  • Support by maintaining accurate records and document management.
  • Monitor deadlines and deliverables as listed for various projects.
  • Act as a point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
  • Administer portfolio progress meetings (scheduling, agendas, minutes, follow up actions etc.)
  • Regularly capture and update projects on the ProofHUB system.
  • Ensure the project management framework requirements and standards are upheld in daily activities.
  • Ensuring that projects are run in compliance with the Organisation’s requirements.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Diploma or other qualification in administration preferable.
  • Project management qualification or experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in various software packages eg. Microsoft Office Suite, ProofHUB etc.

Fixed term. 3 Month interim contract.
