Are you tired of the state of South Africa's transport system? So are we! In March last year, OUTA met with Transport minister Fikile Mbalula to request an extension of driver's licence cards from 5 to 10 years, in an effort to address the backlog in issuing these cards. But a year later, and with no progress made, we find ourselves with a new Transport minister, Sindisiwe Chikunga. Despite Mbalula's departure, we want to assure our supporters that OUTA will continue to push for change, and hold the new minister accountable on this matter. And while we're on the topic of failed promises: we won't forget Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi's assurance that e-tolls had been "scrapped permanently in our province". Sadly, road users are still being billed,  and OUTA will keep reminding him of his promise until action is taken.
