UNPACKING AMENDMENTS OF THE WATER ACT AND WATER SERVICES ACT

The state of South Africa's water resources and the management of our water infrastructure are in a critical condition. The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has proposed amendments to two pivotal policies. WaterCAN is hosting a webinar on 13 February to explain the changes and its potential impact. Join us!

Unsure what changes to the Water Act (which governs our water resources), and the Water Services Act (a key policy regarding the provision of water to the public) mean? And what impact will this have on our water resources and services?

WaterCAN, in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg, will be hosting a webinar on 13 February where water experts will help you clarify exactly what all amendments mean. The panel consists of John Dini (Water Research Commission), Dr. Anthony Kaziboni (University of Johannesburg), Faeza Meyer (water justice activist) and WaterCAN’s Dr. Ferrial Adam.

The free webinar also wants to enable communities and organisations to draft informed submissions and comments on the amendments by the deadline of March 1, 2024.
