DON’T INSULT SA WITH MORE EMPTY PROMISES, MR PRESIDENT!

 

On Thursday 9 February, President Cyril Ramaphosa will take the stage for his highly anticipated annual State of the Nation Address (SONA). This year’s SONA comes at a time when the nation is grappling with numerous challenges, from persistent loadshedding, to frightening levels of unemployment, poverty and crime, the collapse of water and sewerage infrastructure and rail systems, and finally to politicians who focus on political bickering and personal power to the exclusion of delivering services.  Here’s what we want to hear in this year’s SONA – a chance for a hopeful message and concrete solutions for a better tomorrow.
