OUTA'S MORAL COURAGE RECOGNITION PROGRAM CELEBRATES INTEGRITY
OUTA's Moral Courage Recognition (MCR) program is aimed at acknowledging and honouring individuals who have shown unwavering integrity and moral courage by exposing wrongful conduct, be it in the corporate or public sector workplace. We believe that recognising moral courage is just one important element of speaking truth to power, and through this initiative we want to foster a culture of active citizenry while advocating for truth and justice.
To date, OUTA has received numerous nominations for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding moral courage. Some of the notable recipients include Tebogo Kekana (who raised concerns on the former public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's handling of several matters), Bianca Goodson (whistleblower on Trillian Capital), and Ian Erasmus (who exposed water pollution at Sasol). You can read more about them and other MCR recipients who have shown exceptional dedication to upholding ethical standards and standing up against corruption in South Africa here.
The appreciation and recognition from these remarkable individuals when presenting them with a MCR award, highlights the significance of acknowledging their efforts. In the words of one nominee: "Receiving this recognition has left me humbled and immensely proud. It serves as a testament to the values that guide my actions and the unwavering commitment to integrity and ethics that I strive to uphold in all aspects of my professional and personal life."
We invite the public to join us in celebrating these extraordinary individuals whose unwavering commitment to ethical conduct inspires positive change in the country and sets an example for all. Let's join hands to continue the fight against corruption and injustice while supporting those who stand up for what is right and just.
If you know someone who you think is deserving of this recognition, please nominate him/her here.
