DUDU MYENI LAUNCHES YET ANOTHER APPEAL AFTER OUTA'S VICTORY

It seems that there is never a dull moment in this ongoing saga. In last month’s newsletter we told you that the former SAA chairperson tried to appeal against her delinquency order, while also trying to introduce new evidence into the trial.

At the same time OUTA and the SAA Pilots’ Association (SAAPA) asked the court for an interim enforcement order of the delinquency judgment instead of it being suspended pending the outcome of her appeal.

A few days before Christmas we received the good news that the court dismissed Myeni’s application for leave to appeal as well as her application to allow further evidence, and granted OUTA and SAAPA’s application) for the immediate enforcement of the delinquency order against her, pending the finalisation of all appeal processes.

But the case is not quite over yet – Myeni’s legal team has since informed us that she is exercising her right to appeal to the Supreme Court. We will keep you informed on the outcome.
