The Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement delivered rare good news: improved revenue collection, reduced borrowing costs and R6 billion saved from cancelling weak projects. OUTA says this proves that efficiency and oversight deliver more value than tax hikes.

Government must now protect these gains, fund the criminal justice system properly and stop wasteful expenditure before shifting the tax burden any further onto the public.​
