“SASBO is a national trade union affiliated to COSATU, that works for its supporters who are employees within the financial industry. We have 68 000 supporters and were mandated by our supporters to support the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (OUTA) as our challenge and stance against the e-tolling of Gauteng freeways” says Joe Kokela, the President of SASBO.

“We are very encouraged by SASBO’s decision as this is another body that is representative of a large constituency of citizens that are prepared to stand up and be heard on the e-toll matter” says Wayne Duvenage, OUTA’s Chairperson. “While we have had hundreds of businesses that have contributed and supported the cause, it is nice to see SASBO joining the movement and vocalizing their opinion, whilst also signing up as a Supporting Association of OUTA”.

OUTA is a proudly South African civil action organisation, that is purely crowd funded. Our work is supported by ordinary citizens who are passionate about holding government accountable and ensuring our taxes are used to the benefit of all South Africans.
